Chapter committees.
CLUW NYC does its work through standing committees. Each committee focuses on a core area of our mission — from organizing new members to shaping our legislative agenda. All active members are encouraged to join at least one committee.
OUR COMMITTEES
Find the work that fits your skills.
Committees meet between chapter meetings and report to the full membership at monthly gatherings. To join a committee, indicate your interest on the sign-up form or speak to any chapter officer.
Communications / Media
Manages the chapter's public communications — website updates, social media, press releases, and outreach materials. Members with writing, design, or digital skills are especially welcome.
By-Laws
Reviews and maintains the chapter's governing documents, proposes amendments when needed, and ensures our by-laws remain aligned with CLUW national requirements.
FACE: Fundraising and Community Engagement
Plans chapter fundraisers, community partnerships, and solidarity events. Coordinates with allied organizations to grow our presence across the city.
Leadership Development / Education
Organizes workshops, trainings, and educational forums on topics including steward rights, contract enforcement, public speaking, and running for union office.
Legislation / Political Action
Tracks state and city legislation affecting working women, coordinates lobby days and candidate forums, and mobilizes the chapter for electoral and legislative campaigns.
Membership / Organizing
Recruits new members, follows up on sign-up form submissions, and works to grow CLUW NYC's presence in unions and industries not yet represented in our chapter.
