How we govern ourselves.

PREAMBLE

Why we exist.

We, the women of the American labor movement, having come together to share our common problems, achievements, and aspirations, do hereby create this Coalition of Labor Union Women, an organization committed to the principles and ideals of trade unionism. CLUW is dedicated to bringing women's experience to the labor movement and the labor movement's strength to women — to advance the unfinished business of economic justice, dignity at work, and equal participation for women in our unions.
